Team F comprised of Jay Javier and Janice Bajan won the Halloween Curling event last November 1 at the Rossmere Curling Club at 925 Watt Street.
45 members and guests of UPAA-MB, Inc. attended the event and comprised the 12 competing teams: Teams A-F and Teams 1-6.
“We enjoyed curling. It was our first time to play and it was good and exciting. We competed with different teams,” Kristine David said.
“My favorite part was sweeping. I have a vacuum cleaner at home and I don’t sweep a lot. I miss sweeping with a broom just like in the Philippines when I clean the floor,” Jeffrey David added.
Best in Costume
After the curling game, the attendees cast votes for the Best in Costume Award and Jeusa Raflores, dressed as a vampire with battery-operated inflatable wings won. She received a hoodie from the Filipino Journal.
Jeffrey David who dressed up as Charlie Chaplin was the runner up who received a lanyard from UPAA-MB.
Pong and Anna Maniquiz of the Membership Committee spearheaded the activity.
