UPAA-Members attended a Career Gateway Program for Visible Minorities information session last March 10, 2012 at the UFCW Training Centre. The seminar was held in order to provide information to members who are interested in working for the provincial government.

The information session was delivered by Ms. Sam Grande of the Civil Service Commission. Prior to the talk, Ms. Grande introduced herself as a fellow UP alumni, having obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UP Diliman and UP Baguio respectively.

Within the 2-hour seminar Ms. Grande provided information on the provincial government’s structure, its recruitment and selection process, as well as methods on how to tailor one’s resume when applying for a position. Emphasis was given on the Employment Equity program and how it ties up with the Career Gateway Program.
